Municipal and Economic Development Programme in Armenia

From January 2010, the former ProSME  project of GTZ was integrated into the “Municipal and Economic Development Program” as its third component. The objective of this component is the promotion of local economic development with emphasis on small and medium enterprises. Within the framework of this component, Business Service Providers are being counselled to improve and expand the services offered to the SMEs. The LED PACA  is third component's one of the main directions.

Armenian Wine Association Round Table

It is necessary to adopt international wine making and wine growing standards in Armenia, meanwhile keeping traditions and spirit of national wine making industry.  This was the main idea of Armenian Wine Association’s round table on September 25, 2009 at GTZ ProSME office in Yerevan. The leading wine producers discussed the Code of “Acceptable Methods and Processing of the Wine-producing production in the Republic of Armenia”, which will be presented to Armenian Government.

The mentioned and other RA Government decrees should follow and correspond to the law of Armenia“On Alcoholic Drinks from Grapes”. Main purpose of the round table is to develop decrees and law corresponding to the European regulations of wine production and wine making process. Other objective is to create friendly conditions for Armenian wine producers for exporting their production to Europe and other countries worldwide.

Next meeting will be held in November 2009.
